Question:

I wanna help the police catch online predators from major sects of chat rooms. Im 14 and wanna help out thanks.

Answer:

Most police departments use adults to pose as underage kids online, they do not want to endanger kids by being in touch with predators. You wouldn’t want a predator showing up at your house and endangering you or your family if they discovered your address or school. If you know of something suspicious, by all means tell the police. But don’t go looking for predators online yourself, they could be dangerous. Become a police explorer or cadet at the police or sheriff department in your city; you help out with many tasks, you can ride along with officers on patrol, and you learn valuable training if you choose to pursue law enforcement as a carer. If they have a cyber crimes unit you might possibly be able to help out but it would be under police department supervision and rules. Good luck!
