Depends on the state, I would look into your local gun laws. Also many states regulate if it can be open carry or concealed carry. Also with our current president you will be waiting till your are 21 or older.
Some states might allow a rifle for hunting if you are hunting. In my state if you carried a gun while fishing you would go to jail and if you did not have a license to fish you might be locked up for 100 years.
Would the gun be for personal protection from humans or animals?
