Question:

Hi I just found out I was being catfished online and when I called them out they said they will call the cops and get me arrested. That’s not true u can’t get arrested for calling some one out for catfishing? Right?

Answer:

Unless you are harassing, slandering or threatening them, there’s nothing you could be arrested for. As for them, catfishing is not illegal unless there is some kind of financial loss or fraud involved. Best bet is to just ignore them and thank your lucky stars you realized you were being catfished before you suffered any loss. Be careful on social media or dating websites, and don’t give out personal information to people you don’t know. If someone starts asking about money or favors, that should be a big red flag. There are a lot of fake people and scammers sitting behind keyboards… Speaking of catfishing, real catfishing is actually pretty fun. Get away from the keyboard, grab a fishing pole and head to the lake or river sometime!
