hey i am interested in becoming part of this sector and i want to do forensic psychology in uni will this allow me to become a detective
ANSWER:
This is very hard to know as in most departments you do not come in as a detective. You need to work up to detective from working the streets first. Then going into special services of some kind, one of those being Detectives. Most I know did not go to school for it but received training.
If you have a local department you might wish to work for, I would schedule a meeting or call with their recruiting department and see what their specific requirements are so you can best prepare before hand.
