Model & Serial Numbers:
· This weekend, do a complete inventory of all your valuable property room by room. Bedroom, Living room, garage, computer room, every room! List the item, it’s description, and an approximate value. Document it on paper or computer disk, and store it in a safe place.
· Use a camera or video camera to correlate with the list you’ve made. Keep the list and the photo’s or video tape locked in a secure fire proof safe, or in a safety deposit box at your bank.
· Last but not least, RECORD the MODEL and SERIAL numbers of all expensive equipment in your home and vehicles. Many police departments loan out “engravers†that can be used to engrave your drivers license or social security number on your belongings.
This takes away ANY DOUBT when your property is recovered after being stolen!

· Anything with a model and serial number that you would like to have back if it was ever stolen, needs to be recorded so that we can record it in our data banks.
